IS DIGITAL MEDIA BAD FOR US?
I believe that the concerns that people have about digital media are relative and important. However I do not think that the technology of digital media is bad. With all technologies knowledge is lost and gained. For example with the advent of writing much of the tradition of oral storytelling was lost. This is not to say that writing made society any less smart it simply taught them new things. Digital media is doing the same thing in our society. I believe that the positive benefits that digital media provides us with outweigh any negative things that may be caused by it. In terms of digital media making our society less social our society is simply social in a different way. People are social with one another via visual media more than in the past this does indeed sometimes lament face-to-face socialization, but the socialization created by digital media is simply different. In terms of the ergonomics of digital media it is important to be cognizant of the ergonomic precautions that one must take, but if these precautions are taken just like most anything it is harmless. I believe that digital media is a positive innovation that will continue to improve our ways of life.

Copyright Laws
In today's digital world copyright laws are violated everyday. I believe that the copyright laws that are in place are important. It is a disservice to us as artists to have our work stolen so easily. If someone wants to go into music store and steal all the CDs in the store they would be arrested and charged. This act is no different then what occurs millions of times a day by people stealing others work online. This is indeed stealing and people should be punished for it. It is the web services like Google that have allowed people to find this information and steal it. Google is indeed a very useful tool but it has allowed our generation to become dependent upon it and similar services. People of our generation experience instant gratification all the time a question pops into your head and its answered within seconds thanks to the Internet this appears to be a good thing, but this instant gratification prevents people of our generation from thinking about the subject more deeply and drawing their own conclusions.
Crafts of the Montagnard's
I am interested in studying about the crafts of the Montagnard's. To facilitate this I will talk with the Montagnard's. I would like to discover if there crafts have changed since moving to America. If so how have they changed or have they modified the way that they make the crafts?

Marketing in Theater
In reading and listening to the ideas on marketing found in the resources I was not surprised by the techniques that they employ. Although as I started thinking about it in terms of the art of theater it scared me. I have known about companies advertising within feature films, but what if it doesn't stop there what if the advertisement was to make its way into theatrical and operatic productions. I think that this would easily destroy the magic and art that the performing arts offer. With the economy as it is today I don't see this as being a stretch. It also think about what if advertisements were carried out as productions of their own in a live advertisement scenario. I think that is an interesting possibility. I also think it's interesting that many of the techniques marketing professionals are using captivate their audience are the same techniques that the performing arts have used for centuries. I hope that the line between art and advertisement does not become further blurred in the future.
